Preparing children for Kindergarten is not an easy task. Participation in Ready Set Go…to Kindergarten makes the job easier through collaboration with other local early childhood providers and the Elyria City School District.

Participating centers agree to work toward improving and expanding quality at their center or school with the support of the Ready Set Go…to Kindergarten Collaborative. These efforts include marketing, linkage to professional development opportunities, assessment to determine center or school needs, and technical assistance to improve or maintain Step Up to Quality rating. Being a member of the collaborative also provides centers with the invaluable opportunity to build relationships among other early childhood education providers and the school district. This type of connection can facilitate a smoother transition between preschool and primary education for Elyria families.

Recognizing that families have differing needs, there are a number of different types of participants in Ready Set Go…to Kindergarten.

Our membership roster includes representation from part-time traditional preschool programs, Head Start, full-time programs, and programs for children with special needs. We are confident that we have a participating center that can fit the needs of all Elyria families.
